Go through the calendar of my past calls and dust off those past convos
Fish on LinkedIn in 3 groups and send request notes to 10 people per group
Make 3 new LinkedIn message templates
Apply to ALL the jobs on the spready
Look for sustainability staffing agencies and post your resume on them
What I Actually Executed
I had two very good calls. One was with a new connection of mine that works at Amazon and the other was my call with the recruiter at another company for a job. We are out here movin’ and groovin’ ! Today was real productive despite not getting to everything on my list. The things I got done (Tasks 1, 3, and 5) went a long way! I did touch a bit on Tasks 2 and 4 but I didn't do enough on those to where I felt they were “completed”
Results/Updates
I got some responses back from folks I reached out to last week and scheduled some calls for later this week. I’m getting good traction.
Reflection
My confidence is UP!! I’m learning that the way to break the job hunting code is knowing people. Honestly the talk with the recruiter surprised me. I was going into it thinking that I’ m not qualified for this job and have no chance but the FIRST thing the recruiter tells me is “we chose to talk to you because we know you can do the job”. Wow. For so long I feel like folks have just been picking apart my resume to find a reason to count me out of the running for a job. But when he said THAT. MANNNN. Hope restored. I’m excited and my confidence is up.
