What I Actually Executed
Tasks 1 and 2. There are 13 more jobs that I added to my spready and I only got to 2. I responded back to some emails and LinkedIn messages and set up some phone calls. It was a fruitful day.
Results/Updates
I had an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. There aren’t any offers rolling in, but because I’m diversifying my avenues of networking and finding jobs, I’m getting calls scheduled.
Reflection
Look, I’m leaving this job hunting season with more than just a job. The way things are looking, I’m going to have discipline, a thriving blog (y’all better read my stuff!), a wider network, and a better understanding of what I bring to a role. Talking to people has really helped my confidence. Even though the idea of talking to people is daunting, getting feedback on my experiences and how far I’ve come is sooo nice. Also, talking to folks has helped me learn how to better articulate my needs so that I can get the specific help that I need.
Today was a pretty good day! I’m working past the discouragement.
